Spring is Coming Closer...

What a weekend! It's already Monday* again - I feel like this weekend absolutely passed by in a blur! The blur was filled with good times though and it definitely feels like Spring outside today, which is amazing!

Friday I ended up getting off work around 4:15 and so I raced home to have some cereal really quickly and then hopped back in my car to head over to a friend's cabin for a Ladies Night with my church group! The cabin is in such a gorgeous location and has the most lovely views - if it hadn't been 40 degrees with the wind whipping around, it would have been amazing to sit outside and stare at the view.

However - instead we had coffee, desserts and spent some time worshiping and praying for each other. I am so blessed to have these ladies in my life and it was a wonderful evening that I absolutely enjoyed and was so glad to be able to take part in. When I headed home around 9:30, there was SNOW whipping around me as I drove home - but blessedly, not enough to make too much a distinction or stick to the ground. When I got home, I just felt so worn out that I ended up hopping into bed at 10:15 and I was asleep before I knew what hit me!

I didn't sleep too late on Saturday - which, what else is new there? I did have plenty of coffee, took a quick bath and ended up spending some time on my hair before my Mom and I headed out to get pedicures. We popped into Costco shortly before our pedicures and y'all - it was wild. People were stocking up on toilet paper and bottled water like it was never going to be available again... granted, I think it's likely more the panic over Coronavirus causing that shopping tendency...

The pedicures were great - so very relaxing and I ended up choosing the perfect purple color that I've actually been able to show off a bit since the weather has been so fabulous the past few days! After pedicures, we scooted over to Target so I could return a curtain panel, we had lunch at Panera Bread and popped into Loft to look around because I had a gift card in my pocket... ha-ha! I did end up getting two tops, along with some bobby pins and then it was home once more!

In a weird fit of insanity last week - I bought a 4D Game of Thrones puzzle that is a map of Westeros and Essos, with map markers and castles that "pop up" off the map. Y'all - I don't really like puzzles but this thing has consumed my mind since I pulled it out of the box and I spent almost 1.5 hours on Saturday afternoon fiddling with it before freshening up and meeting my friend Danielle at the Alamo Drafthouse to see Emma - which was excellent! I cannot recommend it enough; it's such a delightful movie and especially hilarious! The evening ended with some TV watching, reading and blessed sleep when I realized the time change was nigh!

Sunday was a gorgeous day - the sun was out, the sky was blue and clouds were sparse in the sky! After church, lunch at Mission BBQ and a quick stop for groceries, we loaded the pup into the car and headed into the National Park to do to Compton Peak trail. It was a 2 mile round trip hike and while it wasn't strenuous or hard by any means - it was almost all uphill and very rocky in places, so take note if you're thinking of doing the trail!

The view at the top was gorgeous - although I feel like it will be much more lush and lovely once the trees start to bloom and things turn more colorful! There was a controlled burn being done across the valley, on another peak along the way and the cloud of smoke from the burn was pretty amazing to behold - it ended up making for some interesting sunset clouds at the end of the day. Watson was a champ on the hike and enjoyed every minute of it, as he always does - he may be a little old man but time spent in nature absolutely turns back the clock for him!

On the trip home, Watson was pleased to discover there were Cheerios to snack on alongside his water and he gobbled them up like a toddler... I swear, this dog cracks me up so much! I rounded out my evening with cereal for supper, the newest episode of Outlander, a shower and getting my clothes together for the work week before I rubbed some Icy Hot on my calves and crawled into bed!

So - the first weekend of March is in the books! Ya'll be sure to keep washing your hands, (shouldn't we have already all been doing this?!? Gross y'all!) cough into your elbows (I never do this) and stop touching your face... (who knew I touched my face so much?!?)... AKA - stay healthy!

*I ended up finishing this on Tuesday - because life comes at you fast and when you work in wealth management and the stock market falls 2100 points - you don't have as much time for blogging.*
