Baseball is back y'all! Opening Day should have technically been a few weeks ago but the lock out that went on for 99 days (the second longest work stoppage in baseball) pushed everything back while the very wealthy players and the even wealthier owners argued about money... *eye roll*
Now that the silliness is over - the fun can truly begin and we can all get back to enjoying the national pastime: baseball!
Y'all know I love my Washington Nationals and that will not change - although this season could be interesting since we are technically in a rebuilding phase. Gone are the days of Max Scherzer throwing fire (he's now with the Mets... *gag*), Trea Turner jetting around the bases (he's with the Dodgers) and Ryan Zimmerman jacking the ball past the fences (he retired). The Nationals look like a completely different team - and that's how baseball goes.
I can't wait to see how we do this season - even if it's not the best season. Sitting in the stands, cheering with the crowd, singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and enjoying the crack of the bat - those are still some of my favorite things.
