It's Wednesday - all things wedding - and there are just 80 days to go before the big day! I thought I'd share a little bit with you toady about the lodging, although the Mimslyn Inn is so much more than just a place to rest your head!
The Mimslyn Inn is a historic hotel of Virginia and was originally built in 1931 by the Mims Family. The Inn is filled with stunning architectural details - one of my personal favorites being the gorgeous, sweeping staircase that connects the first and second floors of the inn. The Mimslyn Inn was made a Historic Hotel of America in 2008 and is certainly no stranger to all things wedding!
The Mimslyn Inn regularly hosts weddings and is a sought after venue! While Ryan and I won't be getting married at the Mimslyn Inn, the inn itself will play a huge part in our wedding weekend! Mimslyn Inn is where we will be hosting our rehearsal dinner on Friday night - and it will be in the lovely Blue Ridge Room - which I've shared pictures of below!
My Mom has been working closely with Mimslyn Inn to set up the evening and everything sounds wonderful! I've eaten at Mimslyn Inn numerous times and their food never disappoints! The Inn has multiple dining options, including a wonderful Sunday Brunch that I've been to several times - and every time it has been delicious and delightful!
The wedding party and our guests (for the most part) will be staying at the Mimslyn Inn and the accommodations are lovely. In addition to rooms within the Inn, we are also taking advantage of the Mimslyn Inn's cottages - which will be perfect for family members who are visiting and need a little more space than a room itself might provide. Ryan and I will be beginning our honeymoon with a two night stay at Mimslyn Inn's Bridal Cottage - pictured below in yellow - isn't it adorable?
We've also booked the Manor House - which sleeps sixteen people - and will be the location where my bridesmaids and I get ready for the wedding! Our wedding planner and a long time family friend are hosting a bridesmaids brunch the morning of the wedding at the Manor House, where we will be fed delicious food while we get ready for the wedding! It will also provide beautiful picture options for getting ready for the big moment!
The grounds of the Mimslyn Inn are also beautiful and there are lots of gorgeous spots to take in the surrounding mountains and scenery! There are fire pits surrounded by Adirondack chairs, open patios and of course - a swimming pool - although it may be a bit too chilly for that in November! We will close out our wedding weekend with brunch on Sunday morning and spending time with our guests before they head on their way and we head to Jamaica on Monday!
All in all, the Mimslyn Inn is the perfect location for our wedding weekend and I know our guests will love the opportunity to stay in such a lovely historic spot! I can't wait to spend time here and make memories on the most precious weekend of my life.
