It’s Cats Again

Happy Tuesday! This post contains two pictures that have nothing to do with our cats - and the other pictures are absolutely of our cats, ha-ha! We had a pretty laid back weekend where we didn't actually do a whole lot; it was lovely, but it also really didn't warrant any pictures. Our upcoming weekend is looking pretty similar - but maybe I'll document it just because - just because it will be something besides cat pictures, ha-ha!

In case you're wondering - one of my non-cat pictures is this little caboose on display in a park that's about a block from my office in downtown. While I don't have a particular love or affinity for trains, my Dad does and he helped get this little caboose display completed, so every once in a while when I drive past it en route to work, I have to snap a picture of it.

Spook continues to be such a goofball and keeps us entertained. If someone is taking a bath, he will immediately crawl into the towel/storage rack and curl up in all sorts of positions, and promptly fall fast asleep. I discovered that he sometimes even sleeps here at night - which just tickles me so much! He can be very cuddly when he wants to, but snuggles are only ever on his terms. He definitely lives by the motto "I do what I want". Thankfully what he wants isn't usually too destructive!

See what I mean? Snuggles were plentiful on Saturday morning - but only because he wanted them! Maverick continues to be the more cuddly of the two; and he also tends to be the lazier of the two! I've never seen a kitten that can so fully relax like he can - I wish I could sleep as good as he does, all stretched out and chill. Maverick also seems to be a little bit of a scaredy cat - no pun intended. When he and Spook are watching the birds out the open back door, Maverick will immediately run away if he hears a new or different sound, ha-ha!

This weekend, the only place we went besides church and the grocery store was to my parent's house on Saturday night for dinner. Along with some delicious Brunswick Stew, my Mom also shared some gorgeous looking (and tasting) cupcakes that she got from Wal-Mart, of all places! After dinner, we split the cupcakes between the four of us and I am telling you, I was impressed by the flavor of these bad boys - they were divine! It was definitely the most sugar I've had in a long time!

It was really nice to have a weekend with nothing too important to do - January was kind of a busy month and we had something on the calendar every weekend. February is looking to be the opposite of that and I don't mind one bit. I am perfectly fine with spending my weekends just enjoying our home, our cats and spending time together. If the weather would cooperate - maybe we could also get outside some, but January wasn't just cold - it was frigid! I know - warmer weather will be here before I know it.

I leave you with some more Spook - just being the loveable weirdo we've come to know and love! What he's actually doing is up for debate; I'm not ever sure what is going through his silly mind.
