Happy Monday! I decided to start off the month of July and the second half of the year with some introductions to our soon to be newest little fuzzy family members! That's right; since we believe a house isn't really a home without a pet - we decided that once we move into our new house, we needed to get a pet - and this time around, we are going with not one but TWO kittens!
You may wonder what led to this decision - and I will gladly tell you! When we started building, we knew that we wanted to get a pet pretty soon after moving in, but we weren't sure if a dog would be the right thing for us initially... so we had decided we'd adopt a cat. Lo and behold - my boss mentioned shortly after we made that decision that a wild cat had come up on her property & had five kittens & they were going to have to find homes for them all. Score!
We looked at pictures & my boss told me all about their personalities & we decided on two of the little creatures; two little fellas to be exact: a black & white guy, & a little gray & white guy with a distinctive black nose! Aren't they the cutest thing you've ever seen?
We were told that the little kitten with the black nose was very spunky & fierce; he seems to be the protector of the group & doesn't back down from a challenge. The little black & white guy is much more chill & playful - but both can be very snuggly when they want to be. They were born at the end of April & even though they are still small, they are already litter box trained & weaned - because their Momma is a wild woman & has already left them behind.
After several picture exchanges & chats with my boss about them, we were finally able to meet them this past Saturday & oh my goodness - they were the sweetest little guys! They are still a little uncertain about all the people at first, but they become snuggly & sweet after a minute or two of warming up!
We snuggled them & fed them treats & generally just got to know the little guys. They are both little guys; we are adopting the two boys of the litter, the other three were girls & their sisters have all been adopted out already. We cannot wait to bring them home to our house (as soon as it's finished) & have them bouncing around all over the house, ha-ha!
Aren't they the sweetest little furballs? I cannot wait to get to see their sweet faces each day, play with them & watch them grow & change from sassy kittens into full blown cats... I know they both already have shown very distinct little personalities & I can't wait to see those too!
So - the Lapps are going to become a cat household in the next 6-8 weeks when we get all moved in & then add these little guys into the mix. And their names? The black & white kitten will be: Spook & the gray & white kitten will be: Loki!
Sweet babiea!
