Not Up To Much

Honestly - this weekend wasn't too eventful! I spent time trying to find a way to convert my blog posts from the past year and a half here to Blogger but it was with no avail. *sigh* I'm a bit worried I'm going to end up losing all my posts from the past year and a half and it makes me sad. I'm determined to keep working on it and hopefully I'll figure something out - and if you're reading this and you're a blog whiz, please help!

Friday was a long day at work! I think we all have those day where it seems like the day will never come to an end and that was Friday! I had to make a quick stop at Wal-Mart on the way home and then my pup and I spent the rest of the evening watching the second season of The Good Place and relaxing. I did a load of laundry and did some tidying up - but all in all it was nothing special.

The evening did get eventful when I looked out the back windows and noticed that a fire was going in the basement of the house that is currently being constructed behind ours...a fire going in a strange box-like contraption in a vacant, half built house. It seemed a little odd to me and so I messaged my neighbor (who lives next door to the house being built) and soon enough her husband was outside peering in the basement, discovering the fire was being generated from a hose connected to a propane tank outside and then calling another neighbor that is a firefighter. Long(ish) story short - apparently it's a way to "cure" drywall and I'd have never known that and I thought the house would go up in flames overnight...along with my house too! Did y'all know this was a thing?

Saturday was one of those day where the weather couldn't decide exactly what it wanted to do - the day started gray and dreary but ever so often the sun would burst through the clouds and the day would be spectacular! I did some studying, some baking, some tidying, some walks around the neighborhood with Watson and because I slept terribly on Friday night - I even took a small nap. Around 5:00 I walked up the road to a neighbor's house for a cook out and I wish I'd taken pictures of the view from her backyard - mountains as far as the eye could see - it was gorgeous! The food was yummy, the company was delightful and it was an all around enjoyable way to spend a few hours on Saturday evening!

Sunday morning my Dad and I wore our Saints attire to church for Jersey Sunday - we were definitely the only two people wearing New Orleans Saints gear in a sea of mostly Redskins jerseys. Which tickled me pretty well since when the Saints and the Redskins met up in NOLA recently, the Saints walked away with a 43-19 victory!

After having lunch at McAlister's and buying some groceries, the family and I headed home and relaxed for a little while before my Mom and I decided to head to a local bakery (Historical Homemarker Bakery) in Strasburg and pick up some baked goods, then cruise over to a local farmer's market and get some mums and pumpkins for the front porch! The mums easily had to be some of the most gigantic I've ever seen - the three we chose filled my backseat with their bright, cheery Autumn blooms!

We arranged the plants out on the porch for a festive look, I ordered some bats to suspend from the ceiling of the porch for decor and then we headed in and had some soup for supper with a football game on the TV! After my Sunday night bubble bath, which has become something of a ritual for me, we all watched the newest episode of Poldark before calling it a night!

Like I said - not a wild weekend - but it was a good weekend and in the end, that's all that really matters - right?

Five on Friday

It's Friday and this week - much like last week - has seemed really long! I can't tell you why it's seemed so long, but it has and so thankfully Friday has finally arrived.

One. I've Moved - If you've followed me (back) here, thank you so much! I discovered earlier this week that my storage space over on Word Press has essentially run out - and my only options are to delete pictures (which will remove them from my posts) or upgrade at the cost of $200+ - which is just a bit more than my budget allows. *sigh* So I'll be making the permanent move here and I hope you'll still read along... and I also hope I can manage to import all the posts from the past year and a half!

Two. Autumn Sunset - As I was cleaning up the kitchen last night after dinner, I noticed the sky outside looked...interesting. The weather was stormy yesterday and sometimes after storms, the sky really puts on a show. Last night was no exception! I took Watson out for a walk and managed to snap a photo of the extravagant colors as the sun sank behind the hills - it was glorious! The stormy weather also brought much cooler temperatures and with the forecast for the next 15 days showing temperatures not rising above about 64, I think it's safe to say Autumn has (finally) arrived!

Three. The Royal Wedding - I think it's well established that I'm kind of a nut about all things Royal (I love England, the Queen, the show The Crown, scones and clotted cream, etc....) and I couldn't wait to see all the pictures coming from Windsor today of the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. The pictures did not disappoint and neither did her absolutely stunning dress and accessories - the dress looks...well...very much like a princess and the tiara; with the stunning emeralds, just made the whole look perfect! How lovely does this all look?

Four. Prince William & Catherine - Well honestly, it's just Catherine! I love this color on her but then again, I think she always looks so stunning and classy! I suppose it's a part of the lifestyle of royalty but she does put herself together in the most elegant ways! William is in there too but he's just wearing the usual morning coat and all that, ha-ha! I think we all know the draw of a royal wedding is seeing what the women are wearing - and the hats that top off their outfits! I just love Kate's look!

Five. Prince Harry and Meghan - Meghan is still fairly new to the royal family but I also think she dresses herself so perfectly and has just slipped right into the lifestyle effortlessly. I love this navy dress/coat...I definitely think that it is going to do nothing to put to rest the rumors that she might be pregnant; that coat looks like it was made to conceal! While I love both her look and Catherine's, I think this time Meghan's is my favorite because I just love a good coat...and I love anything blue!

That's all I've got for this Five on Friday - my weekend looks pretty chill and so I didn't have much to share on that front, hence all the royal wedding information, ha-ha! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Weekend Business

It's Tuesday and I am just now getting around to posting about the past weekend. I have next to no pictures from the weekend - even though I did plenty! I don't know what inspires me to take pictures some weekends and not take a single snap on other weekends - but I did put together the six that I could find that had something to do with the weekend, ha-ha!

Friday at work my sweet friends Danielle and Meridith brought balloons and presents and we had breakfast from Firefly Cafe to celebrate my impending birthday! I got some wonderful gifts, including the awesome Dia de Las Muertes mug I'm holding, an Outlander charm bracelet and of course, my balloons - which included a Disney princess balloon - because I may be 34 but inside I'm 5! After a Target run after work, I went home and watched Sleepy Hollow, had some pizza for supper and just relaxed the evening away - it was a nice way to spend a Friday night after what seemed like a long week!

Happy Birthday to Me - love this mug!

Saturday morning after having coffee and opening presents while face timing my parents, I headed out to the Alamo (the Drafthouse, not the "Remember the") to meet up with Danielle and Meridith to see A Star is Born...which I loved! So much! After having lunch and cookies while watching the movie, Meridith and I headed to the nail salon together and I got a gel manicure and we chatted...as girls do. I headed home and passed the rest of the afternoon and evening with my pup, watching the third season of The Man in the High Castle.

Sunday morning after coffee and church, I met up with my friends Katie and Joshua for lunch at Los Potrillos - a local Mexican restaurant and we had lunch and caught up. I did a Wal-Mart run and let me tell you... Wal-Mart on a Sunday afternoon is like no man's land - it's a wild and lawless place and I grabbed the items I needed and made the run for home as quickly as I could. I passed the afternoon with more The Man in the High Castle, enjoying the sunshine outside and generally just being lazy - isn't that sort of what Sunday is for?

Honestly - that's all she (me) wrote for the past weekend. It was full but not too full and a lovely way to spend a weekend. Adios for now!
