Harpers Ferry with Family

This will essentially be a photo dump - so I hope you enjoy all of our pictures in Harper's Ferry, WV! If you are ever in the Northern Virginia, WV Panhandle region of the US - I absolutely recommend spending the day in Harper's Ferry! It's a not to be missed spot and is so fun and filled with history!

Harper's Ferry has been a little town located on the convergence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers since 1733 and while the little town is filled with charm and gorgeous views, it was also host to quite a few historical moments!

The town was visited by Thomas Jefferson, played a part in the C&O Canal and moving goods down the river to Washington DC... and most importantly, was the site of John Brown's raid on the US Armory! For such a small town - this place has a ton of historical significance!

The portion of Harpers Ferry that has been kept historical is fascinating to peruse - and not only will you find history aplenty, but you'll find delicious food and plenty of unique and downright quirky shops to check out! Harpers Ferry also has a new book shop as part of the National Park and it's pretty incredible and filled with plenty of things you might need, ha-ha!

I'm so glad I was able to introduce my husband and my in-laws to Harpers Ferry! We had perfect weather for the day (even if it was a bit windy) and everyone so enjoyed getting to take in the little town! Another plus? If you're a history buff, when you're in Harpers Ferry, you're just a quick drive through the countryside to another historical spot: Antietam National Battlefield!

Ryan and I are learning that living in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia affords so many opportunities to take in history, shopping, dining and so much more - right outside our neighborhood! We are pretty quickly becoming proud West Virginians and we hope our family will come visit us in our fabulous new state!
