Alas, I'm rambling...so let's move on to the actual cooking of the delicious crescent rolls!
I forgot to add the butter & garlic to this picture...whoops. |
I know - it kind of looks gross, but I promise - it isn't. |
-1 package of crescent rolls
-3 cheese sticks, cut in small bites
-1/2 cup small cubed hams (you can also use pepperoni, sausage or even veggies - whatever pizza toppings that you'd normally have...just add them into the mix!)
-pizza sauce
-1 tbsp. butter, melted
-1/4 tsp. garlic
-shredded cheese; I used cheddar
Stuff those little crescents with delightful goodness! |
Something that adds some extra flavor - drizzling garlic butter on top of each roll! |
Ready for the oven! |
-Preheat oven to 375.
-Cut you string cheese into small pieces, mix together in a bowl with your other pizza toppings and as much or as little sauce as you'd desire. You could also choose to leave out the sauce entirely at this step and just save it for dipping sauce - but it does help to serve as a kind of "glue" to hold the toppings together.
-Put a tablespoon sized dollop of the pizza toppings mixture into each crescent roll and roll it all up; place on baking sheet.
-Melt one tablespoon of butter and stir in the 1/4 teaspoon of garlic, mixing well. Carefully spoon a bit of this garlic butter sauce onto the top of each roll. You can also sprinkle shredded cheese or extra meat or veggies on the top; the garlic butter will help it "stick".
-Bake at 375 for approximately fifteen minutes - and know that they will probably leak a little bit, that's completely okay!
